The City of Auburn's Mountain View Cemetery (Washington's leading Municipal Cemetery) is seeking a manager to lead a skilled team of seven (7) full-time Employees as well as seasonal help workers. Located on the West Hill of Auburn Mountain View Cemetery overlooks the Auburn Valley and Mt. Rainier. The cemetery serves many area funeral homes and offers a full range of above ground and below ground interment options. Over 300 interments are performed annually.
This Cemetery is operated as an Enterprise fund and is a division of the City of Auburns Parks, Arts and Recreation Department.
Primary Duties
IN* THIS ROLE YOU WILL...*
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the City of Auburn cemetery in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances, and City Policy.
- Ensures that the cemetery facilities are in a constant high state of repair; to include buildings and grounds.
- Recommends long- and short-range plans for facility and grounds improvement.
- Recommends and manages the budget for cemetery operation; recommends the fee schedule; develops marketing tools for the cemetery.
- Organizes work assignments; schedules and dispatches personnel, and reviews work progress; interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, promotes, rewards, disciplines, and terminates employees, in conjunction with others.
- Meets with families to plan and accomplish interment of the deceased; coordinates interment, funeral, and other related activities with funeral directors as needed; attends gravesite/committal services; maintains records of interment.

Minimum Qualifications
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR...
- Bachelor's Degree in Parks Administration, Business Administration, or related field
and
- four years experience in cemetery management with a minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity;
OR
- a combination of education, experience and training which would indicate skills and abilities to successfully perform the primary functions listed above.

REQUIRED LICENSES*Possess and retain a current state driver’s license without impending loss at time of appointment.
