The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, Illinois location in the Business & Technology Services (IT) division, supporting Corporate Legal and OEC.

As the IT Senior Systems Analyst, you’ll have the chance to join the Corporate Services organization within Business and Technology Services (BTS), supporting Corporate Legal in the eDiscovery area. You will partner with the business to support legal collection activities around hold management, data collection and eDiscovery data processing and provide direct support to litigation and Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) business areas.

What You’ll Work On

  • Work closely with business and IT management to establish project goals, objectives and deliverables for eDiscovery projects
  • Oversee and coordinate legal holds for the company by identifying, locating, collecting, preserving, delivering, analyzing, and remediating data and documentation.
  • Work with business partners to collect and preserve data for legal holds including Mail, Network Share, System Data, Chat and Hard Drive data
  • Support and maintain legal hold system (Legal Hold Pro) for all relevant legal hold requests and legal data collection requests.
  • Utilize Active Directory and other internal resources (intranet, reports, archived data reports) to identify locations of data, UNC paths of data, personalized network shares or machine properties for location, retrieval, collection, delivery and preservation.
  • Assist with hard drive collections including locating, collecting, imaging and disposal of employee hard drives by creating full, logical or targeted forensic images using FTK Imager and NUIX Collector.
  • Maintain index of data to support access and remediation of all collected data as required.
  • Test new and existing tools and processes to improve collection methods to better fit collection model and broaden the scope of capabilities for legal collections of current and legacy data.
  • Create and implement methodologies for collecting relevant digital artifacts including Local, Network, and Archived Mail data, Network Shares, user created files.
  • Produce and provide analyses and reporting of various data types and volumes, such as Hard Drive, Mail, Network share, Termed User Data Captures and existing data inventory, using MS Access, internal reports and inventory data, and Legal Hold Data reports to better inform remediation strategies for the business.
  • Coordinate system support with other IT support organizations (i.e., infrastructure, other applications) and with external partners

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, engineering or similar business discipline
  • 4-7 years of IT experience
  • Familiarity with data storage solutions mentioned above and the technology used to perform the collections and data processing
  • Experience supporting information technology projects in a technical role
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills; able to communicate, facilitate, prioritize, escalate, and resolve issues

  • Experience with eDiscovery and data collection
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proven strong customer service skills; able to successfully balance support responsibilities for multiple systems/business clients
  • Be highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented and flexible as business priorities change
  • Self-motivated learner, with a quick learning curve to acquire required expertise
