Business Office Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Center - Day Shift Job at River Oaks Hospital LLC
This position is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of surgery center business office functions including registration, scheduling, medical records, patient financial accounting and billing and collecting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Hire and supervise staff within business office including registration, scheduling and medical records
- Initiate and maintain the business office policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and policies and procedures.
- Work with and monitor performance of third-party coding, billing and collecting vendors(s) on areas of timely and accurate coding, charge capture, cash flow, days in accounts receivable, etc.
- Responsible for cash collections in line with cash goals.
- Responsible for ensuring strong customer service and communication in registration and scheduling.
- Maintains working knowledge or reimbursement contracts for center.
- Maintains understanding of cost and profit for cases performed at center.
- Oversees timely and accurate completion of medical records.
- Oversees insurance verification.
- Oversees calculation, patient communication and collection of up-front patient collections.
- Communicates with ASC Division leadership on performance of center and opportunities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Three plus years in business office supervisory role within healthcare facility; ASC business offices experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to manage and mentor staff and have the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively with patients, doctors and other colleagues.
- Proficient at working with computers and Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience working with patient financial systems, specifically ASC patient financial sytems (e.g., Amkai, HST, Vision, AdvantX) preferred.
Experience
Preferred- Individual should be proficient at working with computers and Microsoft Excel and Word software.
- Experience working with patient financial systems, specifically ASC patient financial systems (HST, Vision, etc) preferred.
- 3 year(s): Business Office Supervisory Role within a healthcare facility. ASC business office experience preferred.
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field
