Why be a Baker?

Our bakers play an essential role at Macrina. We count on our bakers to monitor and maintain the quality of our artisan breads. Every roll, baguette, and loaf of bread is hand-formed by one of our bakers.

**We will train anyone who wants to learn!**

• 18/hr., starting wage for day shift, $18.50/hr., starting wage for evening shift*
• Full time (40 hours, 8-hour shifts).
• Evening shift (4PM-12:30AM)
• Day Shift (4am - 12:30pm)
• Weekends and holidays required.

*First raise opportunity at 3 months, then every 6 months.
*Starting wage can be higher depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare workspace and ingredients according to established recipes.
• Cut, weigh, and mold dough into appropriate portions and shapes.
• Proof dough and bake in ovens.
• Inspects product for quality and adjusts as needed.
• Complete production sheets and other records as required.
• Clean work area and tools as required.
• Follow all food safety requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work weekends and holidays. (No PTO approved in Nov/Dec.)
• Ability to be flexible with scheduling. (Days off can change.)
• Ability to stand for a full 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work and move quickly.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. (e.g. large mixing bowls).
• Ability to get a Washington State Food Worker Card.
• Ability to remove all visible piercings (for food safety).
