Requirements: Essential Tasks:

  • Perform a complete tear-down on each vehicle before having a blueprint meeting with the CSM.
  • Note every additional part or labor item needed during the blueprint meeting.
  • Check parts for correctness before starting repair and notify supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Immediately notifying Production Manager of hidden or missed damage.
  • Read and be responsible for all repairs assigned and listed on the work order.
  • Maintain copy of work order in vehicle.
  • Complete the repairs in a quality manner, following the company's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Repairs will be according to factory specifications and I-CAR procedures.
  • Apply undercoating, corrosion protection, gravel guard, seam sealer, and weld-through primer.
  • After painting, re-assemble with final adjustments necessary prior to the car being delivered.
  • Before reassembly, participate in the quality control process by checking the paint work as noted on the quality control sheet.
  • Remain conscious of, and work in accordance of, the priority of cars on the "Daily Delivery Sheet."
  • Notify the Production Manager of any vehicles that will not meet the target delivery date.
  • Be responsible for and accountable for all parts assigned to each job.
  • Be organized and utilize the company's parts carts and storage area.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of
  • Be a mentor for all apprentices and helpers.
  • Be proficient at metal straightening, plastic finish work, structural repair and welding.
  • Possess practical knowledge of setting up, measuring, and straightening full frame and unibody
  • Possess ability to diagnose and correctly repair damage.
  • Rework repairs that do not meet company standards or customers' expectations.
  • Participate in daily meetings.
  • Maintain tools and equipment within department.
  • Maintain clean and orderly production area throughout the work day.
  • Comply with safety and OSHA procedures and requirements including: earplugs, eye-protection, welding helmets, and gloves.

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
