Metro Aviation is seeking a Blade Shop Technician for our Part 145 Repair Station located in Shreveport, Louisiana at the Metro Aviation Headquarters.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The Blade Shop Technician is responsible for the inspection and repair of main rotor blades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain close liaison with assigned lead regarding schedules, priorities, and availability of parts, supplies, and tools
  • Perform repair activities including sanding, cleaning, and blade-specific maintenance in accordance with OEM-approved data
  • Complete composite repairs on aircraft components in accordance with OEM-approved data
  • Ensure completed work complies with customer specifications, FAA regulations, manufacturer's applicable maintenance manuals, blueprints, RDAS, etc
  • Approved repairs and balancing of Main rotor blades
  • Accurately cut composite materials in preparation for repair
  • Ensure familiarity with all tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used within their assigned area of responsibility
  • Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance records
  • Perform any other duties that may be required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a strong mechanical background
  • Experience in aerospace component maintenance and/or composite repairs preferred
  • Prior blade repair experience preferred
  • Airframe and Power Plant license preferred
  • Experience in a Part 145 Repair Station preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Climbing heights on various equipment
  • Lifting up to 50 or more pounds
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor/Outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to a loud noise level
  • Heavy machinery used

STATUS & SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload
  • No travel required
