Cycle San Juan is a locally owned cycle tour business located in Friday Harbor, Washington, offering independent and contracted,lifecycleadventures.com & butterfield.com, bicycle tours in the San Juan Islands with a rental shop located in Friday Harbor.

We are looking to hire qualified candidates to manage and lead guided day tours, oversee multi-day tour logistics (greeting guests, transferring baggage to Orcas Island, maintaining relationships with hotels, restaurants, and outfitters), renting, and delivering bikes.

We prefer a weekly shift commitment in the high season (June - Sept.) but will consider different schedules on a case-by-case basis. Must have cycling and customer service experience, a love of natural history is a plus. Previous tour guide experience is helpful, but not required. Bicycle mechanics is a great asset but we can also provide training regarding bike safety and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Manage tour operations and the Cycle San Juan rental bike fleet.
• Monitor bike tour and rental availabilities across booking and reseller platforms to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
• Manage rental fleet inventory, including electric assist bikes, fitness hybrid bicycles, road bikes, kids’ bikes, and more.
• Identify and tag bikes with mechanical problems so our mechanics can fix them promptly.
• Manage private group tour bookings and invoicing.

On Tour

· Present cultural and natural history of the Salish Sea region.

· Present ethnobotanical information of the San Juan Islands.

· Fix flat tires / basic bike mechanics.

· Navigate island via bicycle and practice safe riding.

In Shop

· Clean and safety check bicycles.

· Check in guests at time of arrival and assure waiver is signed.

· Size customers to bicycles.

· Give directions and knowledge of local points of interest.

In Office

· Respond to all tour and rental inquiries and provide excellent customer service.

· Post to social media platforms and other marketing outlets.

· Update website and conduct search engine optimization.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
