Athletic Trainer/Teacher Job at Texarkana School District
The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for athletic trainer and medical professions/sports medicine teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. The athletic trainer/teacher will provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
This position requires an extended 220-day contract and after school duties. Stipends are included in the salary ranges given.
Applicants must meet the following qualitications:
Pass a national criminal background check and a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry
Education/Certification:
Current professional medical license, RN or Athletic Trainer certification
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned or Arkansas or willing to complete required exams and teacher coursework in order to secure an Arkansas vocation license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of sports medicine
General knowledge of athletic sports
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Two years of medical expeirnece or athletic training preferred
