Responsibilities
The University of Rochester Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking to add a board certified/eligible physician to lead the rapidly growing Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) at Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH) in Rochester, NY. Successful applicants will be expected to work closely with a dedicated pediatric infectious diseases pharmacist, other pediatric divisions, and the medical center-wide ASP to promote appropriate antimicrobial use at GCH and contribute to scholarly activity in the field of antimicrobial stewardship, while sharing in the clinical and educational activities of the division.
The Division provides inpatient and outpatient care to neonates, children and adolescents with a wide range of infectious diseases and immunodeficiencies within Golisano Children’s Hospital. GCH is one of the premier children’s hospitals in New York, featuring a newly built 8-story children’s hospital with a 68-bed NICU, and a 28-bed PICU that includes a dedicated cardiac care unit. Notable past achievements include development of the H. influenzae vaccine, surfactant replacement therapy and development of the Rochester criteria which provides a safe way to manage the febrile infant without hospitalization. The Division also enjoys collaborative relationships with the Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Monroe County Department of Public Health.
