Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Functions
  • This position manages the building operations unit of the Holmes Center including the maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, and all student tech staff.
  • This position directly supervises the Maintenance Mechanic position and the Production Manager position.
  • The position is ultimately responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility.
  • This position is responsible for creating and managing a preventative maintenance plan.
  • This position creates project lists for staff to complete in order to maintain this plan.
  • This position is responsible for working with outside contractors and the University Physical Plant on special projects needed to maintain the facility. Coordinate maintenance actions performed by outside agencies to avoid disruption of the scheduled events.
  • This position is responsible for all personnel issues in the operations unit.
  • This position is responsible for the hiring, training and scheduling of full-time, part-time, and student staff in regard to events, equipment usage, policies and procedures.
  • This position is responsible in processing log sheets and time sheets for all full-time, part-time, and student tech within the operations unit.
  • This position maintains an inventory of all equipment in the facility as well as its storage location. This position researches and purchase equipment and supplies for the facility.
  • This position has the full responsibility to plan and coordinate all the events inside the Holmes Center.
  • This position acts as a liaison with Athletics, University departments and outside promoters in the planning of their individual events in the Holmes Center. Assist the Director in the development and implementation of the policies regarding use of the Convocation Center including rental agreements, maintenance, personnel management, and event management. Assist in the promotions and marketing of the Center with University divisions, campus organizations and non-university agencies within the guidelines of the established policies.
  • This position acts as the main liasion between the Holmes Center and promoters including university divisons, campus organizations and non-university agencies.
  • This position is responsible for the scheduling of all practices, meetings, projects and events in the Holmes Center.
  • This position makes sure that there are no conflicts in scheduling that could lead to a cancellation of an event.
  • This position also maintains the Holmes Center Website.
  • This includes posting and updating information concerning events hosted in the Holmes Center. Assumes authority in the Directors absence

Preferred Qualifications
6 years arena management experience concentrating in building operations, event operations, budgeting and/or box office management may substitute for education.

Prior experience as a Director/General Manager or an Assistant Director/General Manager of an Arena, Stadium, Theatre or other type of Public Assembly Facility.

Graduatation from IAVMs Venue Management school/ Public Assembly Facility Management School at Oglebay
