The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality of nursing care for all pediatric patients. The Assistant Nurse Manager directs the preparation of nursing care, including the assessment of patient needs, the setting of priorities and the assessment of adequate staffing. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a teacher and a role model for those who directly provide nursing care in the Pediatric Department. The Assistant Nurse Manager must remain proficient in both the clinical aspects of telephone triage and nursing procedures as well as maintaining an efficiently running floor to insure optimal patient flow.

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or Associates in Nursing (ADN).

· Two to five years of clinical and phone triage experience.

· Demonstrated managerial abilities.

· Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

· Current RN/LPN licensure in Massachusetts.

· Current BCLS.

Other Qualifications

· Participation in relevant CEU programs.

· Maintenance of requirements for licensure.

· CPR certification annually.
