Assistant Manager Used Equipment Job at Boyd CAT
DESCRIPTION:
Assists in managing the used machinery department, people, processes, inventory, marketing of used inventory, and support the sales efforts of the District Sales Representatives and Regional Sales Managers and Used Equipment Salesmen in order to achieve specified inventory turn, sales, profit, market share objectives and ensure efficient and profitable operations by meeting profit objectives, maintaining, and merchandising Used Equipment and producing a high quality of service to customers. Professionally market all used machinery products that are sold outside the Company’s assigned sales and service territory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Management/Supervisor experience required
- Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties
- Maintain a valid motor vehicle operators' license
- Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, High integrity and accountability standards
- Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company
- Willingness to learn, be trained, and coach
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills with customers and team members
- Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
- Highly self-directed
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist District Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, and Used Equipment Salesmen with sales needs and requests and support the sales department
- Achieve sales volume, profit, inventory torn and assist with in-territory market share objectives working to maximize market opportunities
- Maintain proper inventory mix through sales force trade-ins and outside purchases
- Establish fair values for all proposed machinery trade-ins
- Create and develop sales networks for sued machine opportunities outside of the company’s sales and service territory and in foreign markets
- Create and maintain good communications and relationships with other company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, and customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
- Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
- Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
- Create and maintain good communications (verbally and in writing) and relationships with other Company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, and customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
- Follow all work, safety rules, and procedures
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
