Assistant Manager Job at Buffalo Wild Wings Go
The Assistant Manager (AM) position creates legendary experiences for guests and team members through the management of the GO team members and shift managers. The AM supports the General Manager (GM) in their GO restaurant and works opposite of the GM to support business needs. The AM is directly accountable for the execution and performance of the restaurant and provides direction and supervision to all team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the operations of the restaurant and conducts effective management paths each shift
- Provides support to team members and shift managers while adding positive energy and culture to the restaurant
- Assists with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing team members
- Diligently follows and enforces food and general safety requirements and models behavior that protects them and others
- Mentors, coaches and counsels team member and shift manager behaviors.
Disciplines and terminates team members as needed
- Interacts with guests, makes personal connections and seeks specific feedback about their experience
- Manages the execution of service, safety and efficiency as well as the overall financial and labor performance o Food Cost of Sales and variances o Oversees effective and efficient scheduling of labor o Reviews and analyzes overall inventory and ordering levels o Responsible for guest feedback metrics, speed of service and product quality
- Supports the management of food, labor and restaurant controllables
- Ensures the execution of training programs and ensures compliance for direct reports on all training and certification requirements
- Handles team members’ complaints or concerns by actively listening, involving the necessary individuals, investigating and resolving where appropriate
- Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws
- Assists the GM in overseeing overall restaurant performance and sales building initiatives
- Responsible for all zone rollouts and introductions of new products, tools and services
- Supports GM with Wing Certified Trainer (WCT) selection and training program execution
- Conducts pre and post shift meetings
- Completes all manager tools on time and with integrity
- Manages the balance of labor hours and service efficiency during their shift to meet labor guidelines without sacrificing guest service
- Conducts reviews and performance evaluations for all direct reports
- Stays current on all federal, state, local and company-required training and certifications, such as responsible alcohol service and food safety
- Other duties as assigned

- General knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, responsible alcohol service, safety and security systems and procedures and computer operations
- ServSafe Manager certified
- Strong people management and communication and interpersonal skills
- Superior guest service and hospitality skills
- Skill in time management and organization with attention to detail
- Self-motivated and a passion for teaching others
- Ability to read and comprehend written materials and perform basic to intermediate mathematical computations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified in any state, county or local food handling and alcohol service requirements
Preferred
- Three years of restaurant or kitchen management experience or Buffalo Wild Wings management experience; preferably QSR
- Coursework in restaurant management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching and lifting in a restaurant environment. Note: The Assistant Manager position is based on a 40-hour work week
