The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington DC is a luxury property located right on Dupont Circle in the nation's capital. Newly renovated the hotel has 327 chicly styled and luxuriously appointed guest rooms, with 12 bespoke penthouse suites located on the 9th floor of the hotel. Home to Pembroke Restaurant and Doyle Bar, the property also boasts almost 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

In the role of Assistant Guest Relations Manager, you will be ambassador for the hotel and be passionate about delivering world class service to our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, excellent communication skills and a creative, hands-on management style.

The Assistant Guest Relations manager will support the Sr. Guest Relations manager, providing additional oversight and leadership to the day-to-day operations of the guest relations department. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Making sure the team is fully briefed on the days business -VIP's, meetings and events, arrivals and departures by facilitating consistent communication programs such as daily pre-shifts, departmental meetings, etc.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, training, development and scheduling of all guest relations team members, works to support a positive and engaging team environment through effective listening and conflict resolution, recognition and empowerment of all GRM's and overall strong, positive and credible leadership.
  • Facilitates daily service training focus, ongoing coaching to ensure the delivery of consistent luxury service standards as per Doyle collection and LQA standards.
  • Supports the Front desk operation if and when "extra hands" as needed and has the ability to assist with all three shifts if required.
  • Acts as the Guest Relations Manager on Duty in the absence of the SR GRM.
  • Interacts directly with guests

Qualifications, knowledge and abilities

  • Must have 1-2 years hotel operational supervisory or management experience in a luxury hotel property
  • Knowledge of Hotel operations is strongly preferred, must have knowledge of luxury service standards
  • Exceptional guest recovery skills
  • Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Hotel PMS systems
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, am and pm's.
