Assistant Director of Residential Supports Purpose:
To schedule community support staff for assigned region(s) in accordance with defined staff support ratios. To oversee all residential programs and ensure that the needs of the individuals Allies serves, and their staff are receiving the support they need. Aids in the development and expansion of residential programs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • A 40-hour salaried, unlimited flexible schedule.
  • Successfully completes required residential training, including but not limited to: New Hire Orientation; CPR and First Aid; Medication Administration; Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Shifting Expectations, Life Experience and Services; Life-Threatening Emergencies (Danielle's Law); Stephen Komninos' Law; Crisis Management; Corporate Compliance; General Behavior; In-House Orientation; and other required trainings.
  • Ensures that employee shift schedules are uploaded bi-weekly or as needed in accordance with required shift coverage needs (Annex A or equivalent).
  • Accepts call-outs, approves PTO time, and works with members of the management team to fill vacant shifts to ensure that required staffing patterns are maintained.
  • Schedules, maintains, and monitors specialized trainings for all regional staff.
  • "On call" 24 hours a day in cooperation with management and administrative staff.
  • Participates in interviewing and the selection of candidates for new hire; updates and tracks selection and employee movement and vacancies in Dropbox spreadsheets.
  • Ensures that the health and medical needs of individuals are being met.
  • Ensures the reporting of reportable critical incident pertaining to the individuals or staff to the Executive Director and Unusual Incident Reporting (UIR) Dept. in a timely manner and take necessary action to handle the situation following agency/DDD Unusual Incident Reporting Procedures.
  • Ensures that Policy and Procedures with regards to the Division of Developmental Disabilities are followed.
  • Reviews and assures implementation of appropriate standards for licensing.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, supervises the Program Managers, Support Managers, and Floating Support Managers.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, organizes and attends regional Management meetings.
  • Objectively completes annual staff evaluations as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Acts as a liaison between the individuals, community members, agency and DDD.
  • Available to residential staff for consultation regarding programming, service delivery to individuals receiving services and policy and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, consistently make efforts to develop and expand residential programs.
  • Participates in transitioning individuals into new residential programs.
  • May have to work shifts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Preferred Requirements : Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. social work, counseling, psychology, special education) along with five (5) years or more experience in the human service field with three (3) years of that experience working with people with I/DD, two years of which shall have been supervisory in nature
  • Minimum Requirements : High School Diploma or equivalent along with eight (8) years or more experience in the human service field with six (6) years of that experience working with people with I/DD, two years of which shall have been supervisory in nature
  • Valid unrestricted driver license with good driving record (not to exceed 5 points)
  • Proof of valid auto insur ance coverage
  • Ability to lift or transfer up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, be agile, physically pursue individuals on foot, and stand for several hours at a time
  • Proficient i n Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

T he position also requires the full use of good judgment and common sense during daily affairs. Professional communication and appropriate language, whether written or oral, is essential in everyday activities. This communication may be with any person involved in the life of the individuals living in the home. Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance and supports for an individual.
