We are seeking acaring and compassionate master’s prepared mental health clinician or Licensed RN for the Assistant Director of Admissions position in our busy 24/7 Admissions Department. This position will have a flexible scheudle, mostly working on 2nd shift (3P-11:30P).

The position of Assistant Director of Admissions provides effective leadership within the Admissions Department and the ability to organize Admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and admission process. This position has supervisory responsibilities including assisting the Director of Admissions with interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Assistant Admissions Director is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing training and supervision for Intake staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of Assistant Director of Admissions will assist in daily administrative duties and will assist the Admissions Director in assigned tasks including completing staffing schedules, reports, quality improvement, and assuring compliance with all policy and procedures and applicable mental health laws, codes, rules and regulations. Has a strong understanding of the department computer systems. Assists Director of Admission Services with 24/7 responsibility for the department.

Job Requirements
Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities. Thorough knowledge of psychiatric services provided by the hospital. Ability to work flexible hours. Requires a basic understanding of computers; and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payors. Knowledge of precertification for inpatient hospitalization. Experience gathering and documenting medical and clinical information to assess and staff appropriately with physician. Ability to triage for medical and psychiatric needs. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Excellent customer service skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families and referral sources. Skill set to prioritize, assign tasks, and hold staff accountable for their completion.
Education: Master’s Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.); RN preferably BSN.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Supervisor experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed RN, LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred.
