Because of the nature of the military hardware we work with this is for on site work only. It is impossible at this time for us to offer remote work due to the sensitive nature of the hardware projects we work on.
I am looking for an accomplished and competent java or android developer to join my tactical applications team. We develop software for warfighters. We are actively supporting the Marine Corp, SOCOM, and US Agencies. You will have the chance to master Android and the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), a highly desirable and exclusive skillset in the defense industry. You will also gain experience with Teledyne FLIR and Trellisware Technologies' gear.
This position is a rapid prototyping and development software position. As part of the tactical applications team, you will work closely with end users on a variety of projects developing cutting edge software to solve the problems our warfighters are facing at the tactical edge. The engineer will be designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining desktop, mobile, and integrated systems.
Most projects range from 4-6 weeks period of performance. You will work on MANY projects over the course of a year and be exposed to tons of different languages, frameworks, protocols, schemas, technologies, hardware, software and user groups.
Typical Project Technical Areas:
Full motion video and metadata integration.
Image processing and analysis.
Mobile device application development.
Server, IP, Radio Networking.
Remote device configuration via SSH.
File transfers via FTP/SFTP.
3rd party API verification and integration.
Drone control and integration.
Augmented reality integration.
Geospatial Information System integration.
Desired familiarity with:
Git, We use GitKraken Client
Android Studio
Virtual Box
Linux - Ubuntu
We are a hardware company so time spent in the office is required because working from home most of the time is not feasible. We are discussing a way to implement flex time for those that can handle it.
