ANALYST - OPERATIONS Job at Seminole Hard Rock Support Services
The Operations Development Analyst is responsible for supporting the growth initiatives of Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos through management of acquisitions, joint ventures and new developments as well as existing operations. This person will work with the development and operational team to provide models and technical analyses to facilitate project openings and the continued success of ongoing business operations. This high profile position requires a high degree of accuracy as the information provided is the critical support data for key decision makers at the senior management level.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain complex financial models to perform analyses under different operating scenarios using input from management and public sources and conduct in-depth fundamental, financial and operational due diligence and analysis on new business development opportunities, investments and acquisitions
- Perform valuation and financial analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions pro forma projections and LBO analyses to provide decision makers the information needed to evaluate a potential development project and investment opportunity
- Participate in the creation of property pre-opening budgets to include payroll, marketing, recruitment expense, working capital, equipment and supplies.
- Develops pre-opening Labor Compendiums using established metrics.
- Participate in day-to-day deal execution, interacting with senior deal team members, client management teams, transaction counterparties and other advisors
- Participates in due diligence activities and support the deal process from start to finish, including preparing virtual data rooms, tracking and coordinating the information flow, and reviewing and analyzing company information
- Conduct due diligence, financial and operating statements review, and perform market research on potential development locations. Identify competitive properties, analyze zip codes, drive times, visitation frequencies, market propensities, fair share, and other market performance metrics to determine the potential for the subject development
- Prepare descriptive memorandums, management presentations, Board presentations, pitch materials, and other materials and collaborate with senior management on presentation materials for prospective investment opportunities, lenders, capital providers, and JV partners
- Analyze the performance results of market trends, competition and industry news, including pending legislation
- Liaise with other teams, including among the Hotel & Casino, Finance and Legal divisions regarding the development pipeline and deal terms to surface any potential issues impacting our tax structure or debt covenants during the development process
- Coordinate with the project Design & Construction team on the development-building program, projected deal terms and capital structure assumptions.
- Performs financial analysis of existing operations including profit and loss review, labor productivity, revenue improvement opportunities and proposed Capital Projects.

Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university in an analytical and/or business-oriented major (Finance, Business or Accounting) is required.
- At least one (1) year of work experience in a high-paced environment focusing on qualitative and quantitative analysis. Previous experience in gaming, private equity, investment banking, M&A, strategy consulting firm, corporate finance or corporate development industries is strongly preferred.
- Experience in property opening is strongly preferred.
- MBA, CFA or CPA is desirable.
- Ability to travel up to 75% or more, with extended trips when required.

- Very strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills, including DCF, LBO, trading comparables, precedent transactions, three-statement models and combined pro forma models
- Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting
- Experience analyzing property profit and loss statements and providing suggestions for improvement
- Ability to comfortably interact with clients and senior management in a professional and mature manner
- Possess deep analytical and thorough skills in analyzing a company’s financials and growth prospects
- Exceptional Excel/modeling/forecasting skills are essential, as is advance knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have strong understanding of accounting, valuation, and financial statements
- Must be a very organized, detail-oriented team player and be able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Self-motivation and strong work ethic are vital. Must maintain robust multitasking abilities, service-oriented personality, be stress resistant, and possess an intellectual curiosity with an investigative mind
- Understanding of worldwide gaming markets, performance and regulations
- Multiple language abilities a plus; fluency in English required
- Must possess strong communication, reading and writing skills.

- Ability to effectively pitch and present information in one-on-one and group situations to media, customers, clients, partners and other employees of the organization
