CitySquare’s Neighbor Resource Center in Dallas, TX welcomes AmeriCorps members in collaboration with CitySquare AmeriCorps . The Neighbor Resource Center (NRC) functions as the focal touchpoint for neighbors, both new and familiar, into CitySquare’s network of resources. Members may also provide resource coordination services at the CitySquare Food Pantry and Baylor Community Health Clinic.
The AmeriCorps Neighbor Resource Center Aide will lead intake and referral services to neighbors who are in need of community resources. Duties include conducting a short interview and needs assessment to provide needed community referrals related to food, mental and physical health, transportation, housing and other needs, maintaining an up-to-date list of available community resources, providing directions/guidance about the CitySquare Opportunity Center and triaging neighbors to determine their level of need and who they should see, and providing healthcare navigation services to neighbors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Available from May 15 – August 18, 2023
  • Available 35 hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4/5pm
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Deferred action and temporary permanent resident do not qualify)
  • Able to access reliable transportation
Preferred qualifications:
  • Preferred one-year experience in a non-profit setting as a paid employee or volunteer, and/or experience in social work, human service or a related field
