The Investments Division at OneAmerica is seeking a director-level professional to join the team responsible for managing more than $25 billion in general account assets. The Alternative Investments Director is responsible for the management of the rapidly growing non-core investments portfolio, with specific focus on private equity and other alternative investments. This role will be primarily accountable for the selection and ultimate performance of external asset management firms, along with realizing the internal goals set for the program. The Director role frequently communicates with other parts of the organization, including members of senior management, the Investment Sub-Committee, and other internal stakeholders. A strong understanding of economic and financial principals and a broad knowledge of various asset classes is required to help drive informed investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source new investments that fit within the portfolio mandate
• Conduct due diligence on external asset management firms
• Monitor portfolios
• Provide updates & insight on a regular basis to various interested parties
• Build and maintain relationships with top-tier external asset managers
• Assist with the development and implementation of strategic plans
• Continuously pursue new investment ideas
• Develop and maintain current market knowledge of investment related matters and continue professional development
• Work in collaboration with the other senior investment leaders to contribute to the success of the department and the Enterprise
• Communicate the benefits/risks/mechanics of non-core strategies to the various stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements:

• B.S. in Finance, Economics, or related field
• Master’s Degree in relevant field of study preferred, but not required
• 8+ years of alternative investment experience
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) strongly preferred
• Ability to solve complex problems and cross-functionally collaborate in achieving enterprise goals
• Proven experience articulating complex data to both a technical & non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated passion for work and team's success
• Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 07B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
