New American Pathways is a nonprofit 501c3 organization with the mission helping refugees and Georgia thrive. Our vision is for new Americans in Metro Atlanta to become successful, contributing, and welcomed members of Georgia’s communities. We believe that civic participation is a key indicator of success along a new American’s trajectory of integration and similarly, as a core indicator of a healthy democracy. By registering and mobilizing new voters, investing in emerging immigrant leaders, and connecting new Georgians to civic education services that are culturally and linguistically relevant, we help new Americans more easily access this milestone of civic integration by working to elevate their voices, bolster representation, and build power within these communities locally and statewide.
New American Pathways’ ALIVE (Advovacy, Leadership, Immigration, Voter Engagement) is currently seeking an Advocacy and Leadership Coordinator to design and carry out program activities aimed at facilitating leadership programs, elevating new voices in the advocacy realm, and supporting voter engagement efforts among foreign-born Georgians and their surrounding communities. The Advocacy and Leadership Coordinator will oversee a dynamic suite of programs centered legislative advocacy, community organizing, and civic education. Reporting directly to the ALIVE Sr. Manager, the Advocacy and Leadership Coordinator will help oversee a team of Americorps members, volunteers, and community leaders to carry out these programmatic initiatives aimed at mobilizing new American voters, organizing communities around issue-based campaigns, and coordinating meaningful educational experiences and opportunities for engagement within the immigrant community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent New American Pathways at coalition and workgroup meetings and work collaboratively alongside external partners to successfully achieve project goals
- Help establish new partnerships with community partners located in target expansion locations in Dekalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Fulton counties.
- Facilitate the Civic Pathways Leadership Program
- Recruit participants, liaise with UGA staff to carry out seven sessions and graduation, arrange venues and speakers, curriculum, and oversee participants’ projects
- Supervise Americorps Service Member
- Work with Civic Engagement Coordinator to carry out GOTV efforts around federal and local elections
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of relevant data corresponding to program outcomes
- Engage with stakeholders to enhance New American Pathways’ visibility and impact
- Help carry out sessions, trainings, and other activities for New American Pathways’ Civic Leadership development program
- Collaborate with other New American Pathways teams and departments to streamline advocacy and outreach efforts
SKILLS AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated history of working in advocacy, and/or community organizing efforts is highly preferred
- Punctual and time-oriented; efficient in meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrated history of setting and meeting goals
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with a team from a variety of cultural, ethnic, religious, and educational backgrounds and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
- Commitment to the mission of New American Pathways and goals of the Civic Engagement department
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours and weekends
- Ability to travel across Metro Atlanta with your own vehicle – mileage will be reimbursed
- Fluency in another language is a plus
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, salaried position with an annual salary range of $40,000 - $52,000. Employer contributes to medical, dental and vision insurance. Employer pays life and disability insurance.15 paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy. Employee has the option to contribute to 401(k).
