The Division of Substance Abuse of Montefiore Medical Center provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 4,000 patients. The program has been commended by state representatives for providing comprehensive services utilizing empirically validated techniques to an underserved population of patients with substance use disorders in the Bronx.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking to hire dedicated counselors to join our innovative substance abuse treatment programs. Job responsibilities include providing individual and group substance abuse counseling and maintaining clinical documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for socially minded individuals interested in helping an underserved population

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)degrees with one year of experience conducting group and individual therapy will be strongly considered to be part of our Division. Spanish is preferred and CASAC credential is a plus. You will be provided training and supervision in clinically validated treatments and supervision is provided by experienced social workers (LCSWs) or Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC). Must have an active License, Limited Permit or CASAC/CASAC-T.

The position has a competitive salary and benefits (1199 Union Position) including excellent tuition reimbursement.

This position is also eligible for Loan Repayment through the National HealthService Corps for fully licensed clinicians(https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/loan-repayment/eligibility/index.html).

Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
