Job Description
The Accounts Receivable/Collection Specialist will oversee a set of regional accounts to improve the overall days outstanding balances, while working hand in hand with other departments to ensure quality of services while utilizing best practices. Drawing on past work experience to recover past due balances while contributing to the overall success of the finance team.
What you will do here
- Reconcile accounts with payment discrepancies and service disputes.
- Utilize experience to suggest and assist in the implementation of new policies and processes.
- Liaise with all business unit leaders, ensuring best return as possible on accounts.
- Follow-up for remittance advice with respect to unapplied payments and credit memos.
- Ability to understand, analyze and summarize financial statements and legal documents
- Recommend next steps regarding non-payment and/or difficult clients to management.
- Maintain consistent follow-up on designated regional accounts via phone and email.
- Commercial Collections in the corporate services industry experience, dealing with Parent and Child level account structure.
- Maintain working knowledge of current credit and collection legal requirements.
- Familiarity with third party collection agencies and attorneys, with the ability to liaise with same.
Salary Range: $65,000.-$75,000.
What we need from you
- Associates degree or 3-5 years in corporate Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Willingness and desire to effectuate change in a growing corporate setting.
- High proficiency in Databases, MS office including advanced Excel as well as credit and collection systems.
- Open mind with the desire to make contributions to the department and company.
- A keen eye for detail with an analytical approach and great math skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills in writing, public speaking, and PowerPoint
