Utah Tank & Trailer is 100% employee-owned company. We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who will report to the Controller. This role will include all accounts payable (A/P) functions from invoicing to payment. In addition, this role will perform various month-end and year-end close activities ranging from reconciliations, accruals, and other ad hoc activities.

This job is not just paying bills! If hired, you will become one of the owners of Utah Tank & Trailer. Therefore, ownership of all things payable is critical.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for accounts payable process including vendor invoice entries, processing weekly payments, maintain vendor setup files including W-9 and 1099 MISC reporting, gathering and verifying federal ID numbers and tax-exempt certificates.

· Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and inquiries.

· Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

· Reports state sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.

· Responsible for management and periodic reporting including A/P aging analysis and A/P process metrics.

· Support the Controller on various month-end and year-end close activities.

· Update, maintain and develop where necessary, accounts payable policies and procedures to support the operations of the Company.

· Demonstrate standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support customer satisfaction and principles of service excellence.

· Assist in accounting projects or perform other duties as time permits or as needed.

Qualifications

· Associates degree or equivalent certification preferred.

· Must have 2 plus years of accounts payable experience.

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

· General knowledge of Microsoft Suite with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel required.

· Basic understanding of accounting practices and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Experience with Karmak Fusion is a plus.

· Experience in the automotive or parts industry is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
