Cascade Corporation, a global leader in material handling equipment, has an opening at our Springfield-Manufacturing facility for a:

Welder:

This position welds, fabricates and assembles to product specification and company guidelines and is responsible to meet daily production requirements. This position is dedicated to getting the job done right the first time and promotes a safe work environment focused on overall continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing. This is a swing-shift position.

Job Description:

· High volume welding of heavy parts up the two inches thick

· Production welding of burned plates and castings, using weld fixtures to locate parts

· Work from a production schedule in a team environment

· Weld and grind mild steels, alloy steels, and castings with flux-core and hard –wire processes

· Operate jib cranes, overhead cranes, stackers, and lift trucks in order to safely move materials

· Use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights more than 35 lbs.

· Identify shop-drawing errors and discrepancies before or during early stages of fabrication

· Weld steel parts for structural, plate, and misc. steel assemblies per shop drawings and Cascade quality requirements

· Clean welds of excess weld, splatter or slag using chipping hammers, wire brushes or grinders

Qualifications:

· Two-year welding degree or one year welding certificate or equivalent experience

· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret weld blueprints

· Demonstrated ability to weld with flux cored and hard wires

· Problems solving and basic computer skills

· Must have mechanical aptitude

· Self-directed and ability to work well in self-directed teams required

· A weld test will be given for all applicants

Experience:

· Welding: 1 year (Preferred)

· Hobart Certification (Preferred)
