Quality Inspector - $20/HR
2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Mon to Fri
Position Summary:
· Selected candidates for a Level One Quality Inspector position, at the direction of the Quality Manager, level one quality inspectors train to develop the ability to use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspection of products such as machined parts, mechanical assemblies, processed parts and purchased standard hardware.
· They also perform verifications of part identification and configurations.
· Level one quality inspectors will arrange inspection queues to identify priority work.
· In addition, they will identify and segregate non-conforming products using basic knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing methods per ASME 14.5, and common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators as necessary to complete assignments.
· Level one quality inspectors will demonstrate blueprint reading and basic math skills, basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to use MRP or ERP systems after instruction.
· Typically, 0-1 year of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- With assistance, perform in-process and completed inspections for machined, purchased, or assembled products.
- Organize incoming inspection work by identifying work priorities.
- Identify and separate non-conforming products from conforming products.
Required Skills:
- Basic proficiency in shop math and GD&T comprehension and application.
- Basic print reading and application.
- A familiarity with a wide range of inspection tools and processes.
- Basic computer and software literacy. (MS Suite, File Navigation)
Required Experience:
- This position is an entry-level position and offers training opportunities. However, experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Typically, 0-1 year of experience
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required
