SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the cleanliness
and safety of the facility and grounds.
DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs a variety of tasks to ensure cleanliness of buildings(e.g., scrubs, dusts, wet mops, vacuums,strips, sweeps,
waxes floors, emptiestrash, washes walls and windows, cleans whiteboards, etc.).
2. Cleans restrooms and locker rooms daily (e.g., scrubs, disinfects, emptiestrash, etc.) and replenishes toilet paper,
paper towels and soap dispensers.
3. Performsroutine maintenance and minor repairsto facilities and custodial equipment (e.g., replaceslight bulbs up to
8-10 feet, moves classroom furniture,sets up tables and chairs, etc.).
4. Assists principal in setting up and taking down all special equipment for assemblies and special programs.
5. Operates necessary equipment (e.g., vacuum, cleaner, buffer, scrubber, etc.).
6. Assists in cafeteria during lunch (e.g., sets up and takes down equipment, cleans floors, tables and chairs, etc.).
7. Maintains current inventory of supplies and notifies supervisor of supply needs.
8. Providessecurity for building by attending to the physical plant during open house and securing all doors, windows
and restricted areas during closed hours.
9. Closes the building by shutting off all lights and locking all doors and windows.
10. Performs a variety of tasks to the groundssurrounding the building (e.g., mows yard, trims shrubbery, removes snow
and ice, keepstrash picked up and emptied, etc.).
11. Maintains heating and cooling levels in building and reports problems.
12. Demonstratesregular and predictable attendance.
13. On call for calamity days and special events in buildings.
14. Performs other duties as stated in the job description and as assigned by supervisors and building principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Training and/or experience which evidences knowledge of custodial and basic maintenance techniques and basic
supervision.
2. Demonstrates ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (ability to lift 45+lbs)
3. Demonstrates ability to interpret labels and warnings.
4. Must pass criminal background check.
CONDITIONSOF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Effective Date: ASAP
2. Terms of Employment: One-year probationary contract.
3. Hours of Work: 8 hours per day /260 day contract
4. Must possess a valid Ohio driver'slicense.
5. Salary and Benefits: As approved in the current negotiated agreement. Starting salary: $16.54 + $.50 shift differential ($17.04) per hour to start
