Position Description

Welder

Department: Welding

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Amount of Travel Required: N/A

Job Status: Full-Time

Positions Supervised: N/A

Schedule: M-Th – 6am – 4:30pm, overtime as requested on Fridays

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder Operator fabricates and assembles metal structures and equipment through the use of welding tools. The goal of the welding department is to strive for efficiency and accuracy to create superior end products for our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Read prints

Check that parts match the print

Place parts in fixture and tack together

Set welder and weld to print

Clean welded parts with grinder and wire brush

Change wire spool and tank as needed

Operate a grinder as needed

Perform inspections and document as required

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: 2 year technical degree in welding or equivalent experience.

Experience: MIG welding in a Metal fabrication manufacturing environment

Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer or cell phone is helpful
