Yard Lead Duties:

• Process, package, and ship orders accurately

• Point of contact for all transport companies, including pick up schedules, etc.
• Ensure quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met
• Ensure orders are packed in an orderly and secure manner to prevent damage in transit
• Review purchase orders and inventory count to minimize delivery errors
• Lead yard team members and provide daily directives
• Ensure team members are following company policies on rest and meal breaks
• Daily communication with customer service, business development, and department manager
• Ensure product is moved from receiving to storage areas while inspecting for defects and damages
• Ensure products in outdoor storage areas are being stored properly (covered with black pallet cover, labeled with date, etc.)
• Ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained. This includes inventory of packing supplies, etc.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse while maintaining good safety practices.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform responsibilities. Understanding of products, including application, safety and handling.

Material Receiver Duties:

• Daily review of incoming product orders. Closely coordinate with the Purchasing department.
• Unload incoming trucks, confirm order for accuracy (compare to the PO) - including products, color, size, weight, quality, etc. Notify Purchasing of any concerns and/or issues.
• Sign shipping ticket on approved receipts only, attach to the PO if available. Verify all necessary information is on the receipt of material. Submit to Purchasing for receiving and processing in Bistrack.
• Remove all vendor tags; anything that displays the Vendor name.
• Using the product info from the PO, make yellow tags for incoming products. All pallets should have 2 tags that display the following: Product Description, SKU # & PO #.
• Once pallets have been tagged, they need to be put away.

• All tagged boulders must be pulled and placed in “will call” areas.
• Perform stock checks for Sales Orders, Stores, Commercial Sales, etc. Will be issued to you by Purchasing & Dispatch.
• Tag material for Sales Orders once it is confirmed “in stock”.
• Perform a weekly yard walk, ensuring all tags are legible.
• Report improper tagging (material tagging does not match actual material) to Purchasing for further instruction. Do not change a tag without proper approval.
• Complete daily Cycle Counts provided by Purchasing.
• Keep an eye on product levels throughout the day and when you are counting inventory. If you notice inventory is running low, report this to Purchasing.

• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team, and across multiple departments and personality types.
• Ability to work weekends (on occasion)

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1-year prior experience in a lead role in a warehouse or shipping environment preferred
• Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment safely
• Adequate knowledge of warehouse data system
• Basic computer skills required
