Hourly for position is between $22-$32/hr as Website Genii works 4 day work weeks. 4 x 8 hour days (32 hrs a week)

Job Description

We are looking for 32/hr week WordPress Developer who will be working with a custom WordPress theme to build custom blocks for website projects. The individual must be motivated to continue learning and want the best for the client and to be proud of their work. Responsibilities will include translation of the design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the website looks as well as how it works.

* This is a remote position, so you must have an adequate computer to run all required programs, including a webcam to participate in zoom meetings.

Hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30am-5 pm EST with a minimum 30 minute lunch.

A typical workday would include building clean coded custom WordPress blocks using ACF pro, PHP, css, and SASS when needed. We utilize GitHub to manage all code changes and Kinsta and DevKinsta to manage our staging and local environments.

Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling websites
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
• Develop new user-facing features
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Console, & Google Ad's intergrations
• Manage, Update, and Track tasks in ClickUp or other PM software
• Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability
• Strong ability to meet ADA requirements for websites
• Strong knowledge of SEO technical optimization
• Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using proper development practices

Skills And Qualifications

• Proven working experience in WordPress websites
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of WordPress
• Proficientwith Custom Theme Development
• Familiar with WYSIWYG builders such as DIVI (bonus)
• Familiar with a framework such as Genesis (bonus)
• Basic understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Advance knowledge of additional libraries is a plus
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, optimize or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with Photoshop is a plus.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them.
• Good understanding of ADA website compliance
• Certifications and education is a plus
