The Position:

This is a full-time position in our Bellingham, Washington, office. Previous experience of at least six months conducting wetland delineations in the Pacific Northwest is required for this position.

Duties may include:

· Perform and assist with wetland delineations according to USACE Manual and Regional Supplements, wetland ratings, function assessments, mitigation monitoring, mitigation/wetland restoration planning, and Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) determinations.

· Help design, plan, direct, and conduct research projects.

· Prepare technical reports and permit documents.

· Assist with the development of project, research, and grant proposals to various agencies and entities, including budget and schedule development.

· Conduct work year-round in adverse weather and rough terrain.

· Develop, maintain, and foster client relationships.

· Collaborate with Hamer staff and teaming partners on a variety of natural resource projects.

Who You Are:

This role is perfect for someone with experience in wetland delineations in the Pacific NW. Communicating effectively and functioning as part of a team are essential to this role. You should possess strong technical writing skills and experience writing technical reports and/or scientific literature. The potential for significant travel, including occasional extended overnight travel, is possible for this position.

Our ideal candidate has:

· B.S. degree or higher in an environmental discipline.

· A minimum of six months of wetland delineation work in the Pacific Northwest.

· Botanical skills to identify PNW plants strongly preferred.

· Must be comfortable working in both urban and remote field settings as well as in an office.

· Experience using data collection electronics such as GPS units and field tablets.

· Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and 4WD vehicles.

· Experience using ArcGIS and other remote sensing tools is a plus.
