The Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments are seeking two (2) Retrofit Installer Technicians in the Southeastern Utah Weatherization Assistance Program. Retrofit Installer Technicians perform a variety of activities to weatherize homes and make them more energy efficient. Duties include repairing windows, insulating ducts, and performing heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) work. Retrofit Installer Technicians perform work on residential buildings in Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan Counties. Retrofit Installer Technicians report directly to the Weatherization Program Manager.

Starting Wage:

$17.00 / hour

Essential Job Functions:

Needed for Price and Mexican Hat Office for Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG). Applicant must have demonstrated construction skills including:

• Ability to evaluate construction materials needs;
• Familiarity with building standards;
• Familiarity with customary construction tools;
• Ability to perform apprentice’s level carpentry (window, doors, metal roof, wood stove installation, etc.);
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions;
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing;
• Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the public;
• Intermediate computer skills.

Applicants must be willing to become certified as a home energy auditor and/or quality control inspector. Applicants must have a valid driver license to drive to individuals homes in San Juan, Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties, and other locations throughout Utah for periodic training.
