As the Global Facilities UPW/WWT engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support, expertise, and lead Design, Construction, commissioning, operational and maintenance programs for semiconductor facilities. As a global team member, you will represent all facility Design, O&M alignment initiatives. You will also support the design and construction team providing critical operational and maintenance design input and support construction projects as needed. Critical metrics include eliminating production events that minimize lost moves and scrap and include Environmental Sustainability reduction target on Emission, Energy, Water & Waste that drive to achieve Micron’s ustainability goal and target.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Design/Construction and Plan Systems and Buildings
- Provide system designs for safe, reliable, and efficient operations and maintenance
- Develop, review, and maintain the Micron Global system, equipment, and component Standards and Specifications
- Ensure material compatibility
- Ensure designs align with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
- Reviewing of the capacity planning databases (with Basebuild capacities, POC assignments, and actual field conditions) across the network and validating utilization and diversity factor assumptions
- Participate and/or lead capacity and scenario planning including evaluation of system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes
- Review and advise sites on periodic system status presentations (system capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on all approved scenarios, key system accomplishments, and challenges/issues)
- Consult on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modification
Provide Project Support
- Provide Micron Global Standards and Specifications to support the Engineering and Design development for the construction and installation of new facilities infrastructure
- Provide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
- Provide supervision and coordination of Consultant resources required
- Ensure appropriate communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and Manufacturing partners as the need arises to deliver project objectives and results
- Perform timely review of design packages and providing detailed comments and feedback
- Ensure that scope meets requestor needs
- Ensure change management procedures are followed.
- Monitor progress and provide support during construction as the need arises per project
Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise
- Provide consultation and support to Operations and Maintenance and Manufacturing as Technical Subject area Domain Expert
- Analyze system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
- Provide Technical leadership and support to Procurement group on vendor qualifications, vendor selection and negotiations as needed.
- Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis
- Eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risk
- Benchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering and Design Best Known Methods (BKM) of Facilities buildings and systems
- Develop, own, and maintain Global System Standards, Specifications, and Best Known Method (BKM) standards for your subject area.
- Maintain equipment support knowledge (reaction modes/mechanisms, hazard protocol, leak detection, etc.)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering required. Mechanical engineering with proven experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5-year experience in Semiconductor and/or Facilities related industry
- Technical expertise, knowledge, and experience on Facilities and Semiconductor UPW Generation, WWT, water Reclamation technologies and zero liquid discharge technologies.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently
- Good organizational skills and Service attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good team working skills, English Required
- Self-motivated worker
- Familiarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing and Facilities systems
- Ability to travel internationally 25-40% on average, 75% travel within USA, but up to 50-66% of the time during Critical Project phases or Site Activities.
