The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the wastewater treatment facility. The Operator will manage the system of filtration units and biologic reactor to treat the facility process water before being dispensed to the city. This may be done through the use of PLCs, addition of chemicals and physical testing of the treated water.

Ability to pass drug and background screenings is a MUST.

Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned treatment plant rounds: inspect, monitor, troubleshoot equipment, performance test and monitor HDMI screens for system alerts or issues.
• Operate and adjust treatment plant pumps, motors, feeders and other equipment to maintain appropriate plant operations.
• Maintain, compile and update plant operation logs and reports related to plant operations
• Monitor and add chemicals such as, defoamer, sulfuric acid and Caustic Soda.
• Collect and document liquid and solid samples and perform a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests; workclosely with the laboratory on testing and monitoring laboratory results.
• Collect water samples as required for the appropriate governing agencies.
• Perform related work duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Class III Waste Water Operator Certification is expected to be achieved within 3 months of employment

· Basic Mathematical Skills

· Laboratory analysis techniques preferred

· Prior Waste Water or Manufacturing Experience preferred

· Basic Problem Solving Skills

· Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-starter.

· Ability to read and write
