Actively seeking a Waste Handling Professional (WHE) for immediate employment in the Carlsbad, NM office.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the operation and maintenance of equipment and systems under direction of the lead engineer or manager. Provide operational support to technician work crews. Maintain applicable operating procedures current. Initiate and develop corrective action plans for plant equipment and system problems. Provide operations input to engineering for plant improvements. Perform routine administrative duties, such as purchase requisition preparation and tracking, development of training material, and completion of operating logs/records. Oversee daily activities associated with the maintenance and operation of equipment and systems and ensure deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner. Provide operational support to other groups, as required. Develop and present technical presentations. Serve on various technical committees. Report to management any issues or concerns related to the integration of facility activities/readiness, environment, or quality. Reports to the Waste Handling Manager. Must be able to maintain qualifications for wearing all required PPE, including but not limited to respiratory protection equipment.
Exempt Salary Grade 28-30

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree, or
- Associate’s degree with four (4) years relevant experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency plus eight (8) years of related experience.
- Three (3) years of Waste Handling or hazardous waste operations or similar prior work experience is required.
- Fundamental knowledge of plant equipment and systems operations and procedures, Waste Handling procedures and site standard software and network operations.
- Three (3) years nuclear experience or equivalent is required. Full time related academic training may be substituted for two (2) of the three (3) years nuclear experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
Starting salary $66,098 per year *
- Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
