Currently, we are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English), dependable, and team-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Melrose Park, IL. The position is administrative and entry-level in nature, and we are willing to train the right person. This role reports directly to the Logistics Coordinator and provides administrative support to the shipping and receiving department of the company.

Receiving Clerk Job Duties:

• Unloading delivery trucks with the use of a hand pallet jack or forklift.
• Keep detailed log of deliveries and product received.
• Inspecting quantity and quality of goods received to original purchase order.
• Assist with month end inventory process.
• Obtain and evaluate all information needed to handle inquiries and complaints.
• Direct requests and unresolved issues to the designated internal resource in a timely manner.
• Update and maintain inbound delivery schedule.
• Responsible for a substantial amount of incoming and outgoing phone calls and emails with internal and external parties.
• Schedule inbound pickups with freight carriers based on delivery destination.
• Other duties as assigned by Logistics Coordinator.

Requirements:

• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong work ethic
• Comfortable with basic math utilization; daily
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Personable and dependable
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Skills/Qualifications:

• Quick learner
• Well organized and capable of multi-tasking with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload in a fast-paced environment
• Conflict resolution skills
• Forklift certified – a plus
• Prior food industry experience – a plus
• Prior logistics experience – a plus

Work Environment

• Time will be spent in a stockroom, warehouse, or loading dock receiving and transporting deliveries.
• Time will also be spent in a shipping and receiving office processing inventory and paperwork.
• Moderate to heavy physical labor such as lifting and moving heavy items is required on a regular basis.
• Temperature in the warehouse or dock varies according to external climate.
• Position is hourly (non-exempt) Monday through Friday 9:00AM to 5:30PM

Compensation:

• $16.50 to $18.00 – based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
