Tobacco Industry Experience is a plus.

This position is primarily responsible for leading and managing the operations of our Oxford, NC warehouse and storage sites. This role is responsible for the execution of critical peak periods, as well as managing the day-to- day operation of the facility, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality control, staffing, personnel related issues, safety, and vendor management. Strong organizational and planning skills, and able to handle multiple priorities and projects.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate with Leaf Operations and Sales to fulfill customer orders in full and on-time.
  • Meticulous inventory management, record-keeping, and transactional traceability
  • Utilize SAP to transact inbound material receipts, outbound shipments and material moves.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliations, audits, and physical inventories with Finance.
  • Coordinate all transportation (inbound, outbound, LTL, FTL, Ocean) requirements.
  • Manage the hiring and training of hourly staff including safety and compliance adherence.
  • Coordinate phytosanitary certifications, customer or regulatory inspections and fumigations
  • Conduct bagging and unbagging operations per customer requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate shipping plans for products being moved between sites
  • Prepare weekly shipping log, based on Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, or Contracts
  • Coordinate all resources and labor to complete staging, tagging, and loading operations
  • Obtain and manage bookings and negotiate the best rates
  • Coordinate bookings with warehouse personnel, develop and distribute load lists
  • Determine insurance requirements and secure insurance.
  • Track shipments and communicate directly with customers, vendors, and company personnel. Establishes

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years of previous experience with logistics, distribution facilities and warehouse management systems, as well as a proven record of successfully managing the receipt, storage, control, & distribution of product in support of a geographically dispersed locations.

Understanding of SOX, USDA, and TTB compliance requirements.
