POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Logistics Agent is responsible for coordinating and managing inbound/outbound LTL/TL shipments for on time delivery. Prepare, pick and process orders and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
- Accurately create freight bill of lading forms to process outgoing shipments
- Generate, print, and sort pick tickets and process orders
- Accurately enter shipping information into UPS, FedEx and/or other freight companies’ software to generate shipping labels as well as creating specialty labels as required for customer-specific requirements
- Effectively communicate with freight forwarders to receive quotes for shipments and coordinate timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
- Effectively communicate with Customer Service on the status of shipments and the resolution of any shipment issues to maintain customer satisfaction
- Accurately pick order utilizing a stand-up truck or by hand, either manually or via RF/handheld scanner and pack orders accordingly
- Accurately enter shipping information into Microsoft Dynamics AX and generate packing slips for picked/packed orders
- Ensure that all appropriate labels and/or paperwork accompanies orders and is complete and accurate
- Effectively communicate with customers to obtain shipping authorization information and submit online advanced ship notices (ASNs) via EDI system
- Assist with auditing and quality checks of picked items/orders
- Check and inspect incoming merchandise for quantity, description and damage and immediately notify warehouse management of discrepancies
- Cycle count items/bin locations to maintain inventory accuracy
- Systematically make moves or adjustments according to manual count and notifying warehouse management of discrepancies prior to making said findings/adjustments
- Assist with physical inventory counts, processes and duties
- Manage and maintain accurate records, reports and filing of documents relate to duties and tasks performed
- Organize, maintain and clean the warehouse area; report maintenance and repairs of structural and/or mechanical needs for building and/or equipment to warehouse management
- Load and unload trucks as needed
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
- Work under general supervision
JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
2-3 years’ experience using Microsoft products, inventory control and warehouse operations and logistics, experience using WMS, RF Handheld and/or other devices.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Dependable, punctual and self-motivates with the ability to work independently with consultation/direction
- Must possess good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent customer service skills, including written and oral communication abilities
- Knowledge of truck lines, transportation regulations, material handling, warehousing, and shipping principles
- Good math skills as well as problem solving skills and ability to seek solutions which are not readily apparent in order to ensure reliable execution
- Ability to manage directive changes in tasks and duties for urgent requests and complete tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills necessary to effectively with a variety of individual and skill levels
- Ability to collaborate with team members
- Punctuality and accuracy in execution of transactions, data maintenance and other job responsibilities
- Ability to analyze and monitor data in information systems (e.g., AX, SAP) to identify schedule/material discrepancies, inventory errors and other issues
- General understanding of inventory management (safety stock, JIT, FIFO/FEFO, etc.) and warehouse principles
- Working knowledge of company policies and a willingness to carry out instructions
- Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
Licenses/Certifications: Must be able to obtain certification to operate powered industrial equipment (pallet jack, forklift, order picker, etc).
