The Lower Shore Clinic is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center that offers outpatient therapy, substance abuse, and primary care services. Our Assertive Community Treatment Teams provide case management and advocacy services at a client's home, work, or any other appropriate location chosen by the client. Go-Getters is a subsidiary of the Lower Shore Clinic and provides rehabilitation services to adults recovering from severe mental illness. Day Programs run classes on daily living skills and support groups. We offer support to clients in the community who might otherwise be isolated or neglected. Rehabilitation Specialists assist with the daily demands of life, providing services at home, worksite, or another location chosen by the member. Residential Services provide housing, and with support and guidance our clients can learn skills to help them move into independent living. Crisis services help prevent hospitalization to people in crisis and the Supported Employment Team offers employment preparation and job coaching.

RESIDENTIAL TRAINING TEAM LEADER

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Personal stability, flexibility, energy, and commitment to working with people recovering from severe mental illness

2. Current CPR and First Aid certification; driver’s license and safe driving record; reliable transportation.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4. Formal training at a bachelor’s degree level in human services and/or at least four years’ experience working with people recovering from severe mental illness.

5. Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.

6. Meet credentialing and privileging requirements as set out in Policy and Procedures.

DUTIES:

• Oversee upkeep of homes; ensure that Health & Safety standards are met and that a safe and clean environment is provided for staff and members.
• Ensure monthly home inspections are completed and homes are ready for LBHA home inspections.
• Take part in all agency-sponsored training programs required by supervisor.
• Assume responsibility as the lead trainer for all Residential Rehabilitation Specialists and Crisis Specialists. Train staff in the following areas.
  • documentation
  • transportation
  • shopping
  • meal planning and preparation
  • medication monitoring
  • appointments
  • recreational and activities planning
  • maintenance of basic standards of cleanliness & safety
  • personal problem solving and interventions
  • positive role modeling
  • serious incident reporting and on-call
  • de-escalation techniques
  • carrying out plans of care/individual recovery plans
• Provide coverage if needed and participate in the on-call system.
• Using electronic health records, input data and following through seeing services to their completion.
• Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

NARRATIVE: The Residential Training Team Leader has ultimate responsibility for the development and training of all Residential and Crisis Specialists. Flexible schedule Wednesday – Sunday.

AUTHORITY: Position reports to the Director of Residential Services who will approve working schedule and provide evaluation.
