JOB SUMMARY:

AMPI is immediately hiring for a Warehouse Helper. The Warehouse Helper is responsible for the movement of finished goods, raw materials, and supplies to and from storage and production areas, ensuring both product integrity and quality. This position will work as a team member with all levels of the organization to maintain programs and standards that increase the efficiency of product usage; support the reduction of damaged product and waste, ensuring compliance with all company rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  • Works with the Warehouse Lead to organize and stage loads of incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Helps USDA pull daily samples and replace sampled product.
  • Organizes coolers and have butter rotated to load trailers.
  • Completes an accurate inventory of product: both quarterly and yearly.
  • Labels and sorts butter if it has been downgraded.
  • Checks and fills water levels in forklift battery.
  • Instructs Breakout personnel to the placement of product packaged during evening and weekends.
  • Cleans and sweeps warehouse and coolers. Keeps work area clean.
  • Performs trailer inspections monitoring cleanliness.
  • May be required to transfer product to outside warehouses.
  • May be asked to help transport scrap or machinery.
  • Ensures all pallets have labels.
  • Monthly cleaning of forklift as required.
  • Fills out daily forklift inspection sheets.
  • Participates in the following meetings: SQF, Safety and Employee Training.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Valid Class A Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid forklift operator license.
  • Prior experience in the dairy or cheese industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
