Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for a Warehouse Expeditor at our facility located on the Southside of Chicago (about 20 minutes from Northwest Indiana). Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this person will communicate with others to increase operating efficiency and customer satisfaction by successfully loading the materials requested by our customers on trucks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform setups, operational checks and complete a visual inspection and assists crane operator with loading the trucks.
• Understands the basics of warehousing, inventory and stocking procedures.
• Ability to use basic computer operations and warehouse management software
• Must be able to stand and walk for shifts of 8 hours to 12 hours per day. The employee is regularly required to use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate for the Expeditor opportunity will possess an Associate’s Degree and at least 2 years of equivalent experience in shipping/logistics/distribution environment. Completion of military service is considered equivalent to a 2 year degree.

• Exhibits effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Visual Acuity to read and record numerical and customer information
• Experience using RF scanners preferred
• Experience using SAP (warehouse management system) preferred
• Attention to detail, dependability, professionalism and a great work ethic
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
