The Order Puller is responsible for ensuring customer orders are safely and efficiently selected, loaded, and delivered while maintaining WCPI’s exceptional standard of workplace safety. In addition, the Warehouse Associate operates company vehicles ranging from vans to box trucks for customer deliveries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

• Review customer pick-list for comments regarding color, quantity, quality, size & tagged product
• Builds pallets following proper stacking and storage methods to ensure stability and to prevent product damage.
• Load and arrange all orders to ensure the safe delivery of products to customers
• Receive and process products; Verify count and description with PO and invoice/bill of lading
• Makes sure that all product needed is in a pick location. Brings product down and racks product when requested, ensuring FIFO method, unless otherwise directed, to ensure proper rotation
• Completes double-check process on product. Ensures that counts, sizes, weights, and certification match the packaging and order descriptions including Organic vs. Conventional and grower labels
• Drive company vehicle and pick-up product at a local vendor location, as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily works in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), and pallet jacks. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects ranging from 10 to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PRE-REQUISITES

• Must pass pre-employment background, physical, and drug screen
• Must have valid Class C license and Motor Vehicle Report
• Produce knowledge a plus – (i.e., fruits & vegetables, organic & conventional)
• 1-year experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Experience with an electric pallet-jack & hand-truck
• Read, write & effectively communicate verbally in English (bilingual a plus)
• Perform basic arithmetic (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and uses basic numerical concepts (e.g., whole numbers, percentages) to complete job tasks

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a daytime position and interested candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and overtime hours as required by business operations.
