The Position
This is an opportunity to make an impact in a pivotal area of OBX's business - the company is expanding and you will contribute to the growth and success of the Supply Chain department. In this temporary role, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager and work with them to execute daily logistics requirements, optimize processes, and improve efficiency. Here is an overview of a few key functions of this position:
- Organize and optimize the warehouse and manage the flow of its contents.
- The warehouse acts as a major hub for all things that move in and out of the facility, and when it is running well, the business does better for it.
- Additionally, various departments at OBX utilize the warehouse to store their materials and ingredients. This role will facilitate the transfer of those goods and help queue them for upcoming production runs.
- Receive and organize incoming goods both physically and in OBX's ERP platform (enterprise resource planning).
- OBX has a healthy cadence of purchase orders that need to be received on a daily basis. Those goods need to be inspected, organized, and tracked both physically and in our digital system.
- This is an important function as it supports many other departments: purchasing, production, research & development, and accounting.
- Maintain the inventory of consumables that are used across multiple departments.
- The warehouse is used to store many different items that are used throughout the building. In order to stay operational and be efficient, it is important that the consumables and tools we use are well stocked and organized.
- This position will perform weekly inventory counts and create purchase order requests in order to keep a good supply of materials.
Responsibilities and Duties
In addition to the above responsibilities, this position will also be responsible for the following.

- Receive and organize all freight deliveries. Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other appropriate tools as needed to unload trucks and organize goods within the warehouse.
- Support the receiving position when there are large amounts of small parcel shipments that need to be received.
- Communicate any issues and nuances of goods being received and work with the Supply Chain Manager and other stakeholders to find a resolution.
- Prepare and queue materials needed by other departments by pulling them from their respective locations and organizing them in designated areas or delivering them to the appropriate location.
- Accurately input data and information into OBX's ERP.
- Take photos of goods and paperwork being received; capturing detail and context for future reference.
- Maintain an accurate and up to date record of non-standard deliveries with collaboration from the Supply Chain Manager.
- Work in tandem with the Facility & Maintenance department to pull drums and chemicals from the chemical storage pad as needed by production.
- Clean and maintain the warehouse and its contents. Pick up loose materials, straighten and stack pallets, sweep debris and dust, dispose of trash, recycle cardboard, declutter, etc.
- Design and create goals for yourself and your role with support from the Supply Chain Manager through OKRs & KPIs (Objectives and Key Results / Key Performance Indicators).
- This position is cross-trained to support the fulfillment portion of the Supply Chain department.
- Palletize shipments and securely wrap them to ensure safe transport.
- Organize documentation and label pallets accordingly for outbound shipments.
Safely operate forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks, such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products.
Work safely in warehouse and lab environments and in accordance with standard operating procedures.- Additional tasks as assigned by management in support of company goals and shifting needs.

Qualifications and Skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Experienced on a Drexel forklift, comfortable learning how to use a skid-steer
- Willingness to learn OBX's processes and systems
- High degree of problem solving skills
- Computer literacy skills / ability to navigate and manage digital systems
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
- Interest in learning new skills and problem solving techniques
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Must be able to lift and balance 25/50/70 pounds regularly and use tools such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts when appropriate.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours) with frequent kneeling and bending.
- Work around plants, airborne particles, and chemicals with proper PPE.
- Must be comfortable working with and around heavy machinery.
- May experience moderately high noise levels.
