About this job

The VP of Account Development will be responsible for partnering with senior leadership, Retail Expansion team, cross-functional teams and Beauty Manufacturer counterparts to lead the industry integration for NIQ.

This individual will develop and execute a growth strategy and sales plan, build key industry relationships with C-level executives and close long-term partnerships with key retailers. Responsible for consistent scoping, development and deployment of thought leadership for Beauty retailers.

As a leader, you will maintain a pulse on industry trends and retailers’ evolving needs to ensure NIQ is continuing to be the premier provider of insights and analytics for Beauty. You will lead and influence a cross-functional team that includes; Sales, Operations, Strategy, Retail, Analytics and Product to grow the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and deliver on growth objectives and strategies in partnership with NIQ leadership and lead sales team to success

  • Build out a team playbook for Beauty retail deal structure, negotiation guidelines and consistency across NIQ Globally. These should balance maximizing NIQ’s profitability and long term health

  • With a high degree of urgency, uncover and disseminate retailer, manufacturer and competitive intelligence

  • Proactively develop new customer contacts, collaborate with internal resources to generate leads, ensure team secure meetings and deliver proposals

  • Own the entire revenue management process including financial targets, cash flow optimization, billing, pipeline from all business units and contract process

  • Leverage sales and partnership skills, prior retail experiences, and deep understanding of NIQ’s core competencies to establish deeper relationships with clients for insight into specific, high value-add business opportunities

  • Align NIQ’s service and product offerings with client needs through conversations with clients at meetings, industry conferences, and events and through development and delivery of presentations, briefings, and proposals

  • Attend and represent NIQ at Industry events, be the voice of our organization

  • Identify common themes from clients to assist in the development of new NIQ products

Do you have experience in working with complex client relationships and client issue resolution?


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree

  • 15+ years of Account Management or Retail Merchandising experience with a retailer or manufacturer. Experience in the Beauty Industry a must

  • Proven track record of leveraging resources to tailor positioning to each prospective client’s needs

  • Comprehensive understanding of point-of-sale scanner data and other data assets provide opportunities for retailers

  • Lead the joint business planning process with the customer, within the account planning cycle

  • Proven history of exceeding goals and developing trusted partnerships

  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep relationships with C-Suite level clients

  • Ability to develop meaningful insights leveraging NIQ and external data sources and communicate them in a meaningful, compelling way.

  • Strong presentation skills with a high comfort level presenting to large groups and senior audiences

  • Experience in outbound prospecting and closing of new business preferred. Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.

  • Ability to travel about 15% - 25%
