Job Description
Tive is actively hiring a VP of Global Pharma & Life Sciences. This leader will focus on building out a sales team who will specialize in building and expanding our customer base in this specific vertical. Today, this team has one subject matter expert, but no fully dedicated sales team. Now that Tive has officially gone to market with a certified, validated pharma-ready solution across all required temperature monitoring ranges, we are ready to move full speed ahead with the build out of the vertical. This leader will be responsible for building out the team, recommending the strategic accounts to focus on, partner with marketing and product marketing to ensure we are messaging and targeting the appropriate audience in the various markets we service, and will work closely with the product team to ensure we’re meeting the standards and expectations of this customer base. This role will report directly into the Chief Revenue Officer and is expected to have a major impact on the trajectory of the Tive’s growth in the years ahead.
What do the key responsibilities of the role look like?
Partner closely with the CRO, VP of RevOps, and VP of Marketing to build and achieve the sales plan for the vertical.- Manage to the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly KPI’s of your team to support the Sales Math necessary to achieve your pipeline and revenue targets.
- Continue to recruit, hire, onboard, train, and manage salespeople based on the needs of the business and according to the pharma & life sciences sales plan.
- Influence the other functions in the company by actively communicating the vertical-specific needs from product, engineering, marketing, customer success, technical support, etc.
- Own and drive deep pipeline & opportunity management within your team. Leverage the sales process to ensure opportunities are being staged correctly, meeting exit criteria before moving forward, and creating discipline within the movement of deals. Develop a forecast cadence that demonstrates accuracy and understanding of the business in the vertical.
- Create a culture of success within your sales organization. Winning begets winning. We want a team that is able to capture and build upon the market momentum Tive has. You will be key to growing that as their leader!
What skills and qualifications do we want in the role?
10+ years of senior sales leadership experience in global B2B technology businesses in the midst of significant growth cycles.- 5+ years of pharma & life sciences vertical concentration required
- Cold chain management & logistics experience is preferred.
- Deep familiarity with the top 20 global pharmaceutical manufacturers and their relationships across specialty packaging companies and dedicated transportation service providers.
- Deep understanding of pharma and life-science cold chain requirements and best practices (21 CFR Part 11, GxP, etc).
- Ability to lead through constructive influence while working alongside organizational leadership (sales, marketing, business/revenue operations, product, and executive team).
- Used to leveraging data to drive fact-based decisions related to investments/divestments, performance management, hiring top talent, and managing the team.
- Exceptional people leader and team builder. Demonstrable track record of hiring top performers and amazing human beings.
- Solid understanding of standard business practices in a hypergrowth technology sales organization such as sales process, sales & qualification methodologies, account mapping, lead SLA’s, reporting, forecasting, territory management, sales quotas, and ramp/sales productivity modeling.
- Solid Salesforce skill set.
- Ability to operate autonomously in an environment that changes rapidly.
- Ability to build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills with peers, team members, and executives alike.
- The role is to be US based.
