JF&CS is now seeking a full-time Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. This is a hybrid position.

PURPOSE: The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the administrative operations of the volunteer function at JF&CS. The Coordinator will partner with the Volunteer Engagement Manager in managing Agency volunteers and volunteer related events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Volunteers

  • Help administer the Agency’s volunteer program in alignment with the Agency and Volunteers strategic plan.
  • Serve as a point of contact for volunteers, assisting in new volunteer recruitment and intake. Support the Volunteer Engagement Manager in on-going staff training and volunteer engagement initiatives.
  • Disseminate effective and timely communications to volunteers for screening and onboarding, as well as to advertise and fill open positions.
  • Work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager and Program Managers to match volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on their skill sets and interest directly and through the Galaxy Digital platform.
  • Ensure agency volunteers are properly vetted per program requirements and maintain volunteer records in accordance with Agency standards.
  • Help oversee the Galaxy Digital Platform for volunteers in conjunction with Volunteer Services Manager.
  • Provide programmatic & logistical support for volunteer activities and events including young family, young professional, and other volunteer initiatives.
  • Assist with content creation in partnership with Marketing for volunteer communications such as newsletters, blogs, social media posts.
  • Attend and take minutes for various volunteer related committee meetings.
  • Provide technical support to program staff and volunteers for Galaxy Digital
  • Collect and track volunteer hours and demographics for reporting purposes.

Events

  • Support Agency Events by coordinating needed volunteers and providing logistical assistance as required.
  • Help plan and implement Volunteer Events including Young Family Volunteer Days, Hunger Walk, Mitzvah Day, Recognition Days, etc.
  • Attend Volunteer & Agency events as required including evenings and/or weekends.

Special Projects – collecting submissions/managing JotForm,

  • Coordinate requests for Passover assistance, food distribution, and volunteer engagement.
  • Coordinate Rosh Hashanah financial assistance.
  • Assist with Holiday Gift Program for Families and Older Adult Gift Card Drive
  • Assist with annual MVR check
  • Assist with additional projects as assigned.

  • Must have outstanding computer skills: including Microsoft Office Suite/Excel and database knowledge
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills with quick responsiveness.
  • Must be a self-starter

  • The employee frequently is required to talk on phone or communicate verbally with internal and external customers.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • The employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time during presentations, meeting facilitations, and for volunteer days.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must have the ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Office environment as well as direct volunteer interfacing in the larger Atlanta community.
  • The work load is fast paced with timeliness a concern for internal and external customers
  • Hybrid work schedule with 3 days a week in office; up to 2 days remote.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of B.A. degree or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in an area related to human services
  • Successful grant writing experience for government, foundation, corporate and individual funding
  • Experience in preparing proposal packages and budgets, understand outcome measures and grant compliance for human service agencies
  • Knowledge of program development and outcomes, preferred
  • High level of competency in MS Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Raiser’s Edge
