Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy is a not-for-profit 501c3 business created to manage Nathan Benderson Park, a community/public asset and world-class, multi-use sports venue. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our community and be an economic generator for our region. The Conservancy’s primary purpose is to develop and promote Nathan Benderson Park as a world-class event center, team training site and Sarasota County park, while providing outreach programs through recreation, safety training, education and volunteering as a service to our community.

Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy is currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to help us manage and engage our growing community of volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with our team to identify volunteer needs, recruit and train volunteers, and create a positive experience for volunteers that will encourage continued engagement with our organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan to attract and retain volunteers.
• Coordinate the screening and onboarding process for new volunteers, including conducting interviews, reference checks, and background checks as necessary.
• Train and manage volunteers, including scheduling, tracking hours, and providing feedback.
• Collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs and ensure that volunteers are matched with appropriate opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours, and impact.
• Create and manage volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs.
• Communicate regularly with volunteers to keep them informed of upcoming events, opportunities, and organizational news.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to volunteer management.

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer management or community engagement.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, or other software tools for managing volunteers.
