Senior Vice President, Corporate Quality

Syneos Health is seeking an inspiring strategic leader with business acumen and deep expertise in Quality. The new incumbent will partner with the Chief Operating Officer and the General Counsel to ensure a Quality culture across the organization. This new executive will lead Syneos’ Corporate Quality Group, working closely every day with our delivery teams, clients, regulators and other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is someone with a growth mindset who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate cross-functionally at all levels in the organization.

This position oversees the following four global teams: Quality Governance, Analytics and Reporting; Quality Management; Quality Assurance; and Commercial Quality. You will partner with the Chief Operating Officer and the General Counsel to lead an enterprise-wide Corporate Quality Leadership Team, which brings together executives from across the Company to ensure that we maintain culture of Quality.

The Senior Vice President provides strategic direction and leadership to Quality Assurance that includes Syneos Health conducted audits internally and externally and client audit and regulatory inspection hosting and support; and to Quality Management that includes Controlled Document Management, Quality Issue Management; to Quality Governance, Analytics and Reporting that includes Quality Systems, Quality Metrics, and Therapeutic, Functional and Strategic Account Support; and to Commercial Quality that includes Quality Management and Quality Assurance support to the Syneos Health Commercial business.

Job responsibilities
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership to Quality Assurance and Quality Management.
  • Approves the annual audit plan and any changes thereof.
  • Provides the resources and leadership support necessary to execute the audit plan.
  • Ensures that client audits and regulatory inspections are provided with high quality support, from hosting through to the audit response process.
  • Acts as an escalation point internally and with clients on particularly complex and/or sensitive quality matters.
  • Provides periodic Quality-related updates to executive leaders.
  • Provides strategic direction and support on Corporate Quality-led initiatives and applicable Company initiatives.
  • Represents Corporate Quality Leadership during select bid defenses and governance committees.
  • In partnership with Corporate, Clinical and Commercial leadership, drives the Company’s continued journey to fully embrace the concepts of Quality by Design and Continuous Improvement.
  • Fosters an environment where change and out of the box solutions, aligned with evolving regulatory thinking, are embraced.
  • Represents Corporate Quality at external professional meetings.
  • Oversees the Corporate Quality Budget.
  • Leads a team of Corporate Quality leaders. As such, approves courses of action on human resources’ matters, including salary administration; performance appraisals and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree and experience in global Clinical Research, in one or more Contract Research Organizations or Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Companies.
  • Extensive management experience in Quality roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines in the clinical research industry.
  • Superior analytical skills/Ability to develop out of the box solutions in areas of ambiguity.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to influence at the highest levels.
  • Effective at conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to travel as required.

The annual base salary for this posi tion ranges from $221,040 to 454,300 USD . The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
