Vice President of Finance
Columbus, NE
Job Function:
The Vice President of Finance will oversee financial related matters by planning and directing all accounting operational functions. This position handles the modeling, accumulation, and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff.
Essential Functions:
- Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting Department to include the following areas: Financial Accounting, Operations Accounting.
- Oversees the Company’s financial or budget activities to fund operation, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.
- Directs, plans, and implements policies, objectives, and activities of the Company to maximize returns on investment, increase productivity and determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change.
- Oversees budget preparation, including those for funding or implementation of programs.
- Implements corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental issues.
- Establishes Finance departmental responsibilities and coordinates functions among departments and sites.
- Serves on management committees and other governing boards.
- Directs the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.
- Delivers speeches, writes articles, or presents information at meeting or conventions to promote services, exchange ideas, or accomplish objectives.
- Interprets and explains policies, rules, regulations, or laws to organizations, government or corporate officials, or individuals.
- Assures all financial procedures and plans are consistent with organizational goals and cultural values.
- Maintains financial integrity of the operations including implementations and oversight of all appropriate controls including proper segregation of duties.
- Responsible for management of working capital levels including collections, credit control and overall cash flow.
- Analysis of both strategic and tactical activities of the Company.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in a Senior Level of Finance or Accounting role.
- CPA license preferred
- Agricultural experience preferred.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record.
