Due to our continued growth, we are hiring for a Vice President of Business Development at Wake Research, an M3 company. This position is remote and open to applicants located anywhere in the US.

M3 Wake Research, Inc. is one of the largest independent clinical research site services companies in North America. M3 Wake Research is an integrated network of premier investigational sites working closely with and meeting the needs of the global biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical industry, and clinical research organizations. M3 Wake Research has its proprietary patient database of potential clinical trial participants—men and women, children and adults, across all ethnicities—for all kinds of adaptive and other types of trial designs. Conducting studies since 1984, we have a combined subject database of more than 2 million.

Mission of the Role: The Vice President of Business Development will present and promote our investigational site network services and solutions to potential clients. The VP of Business Development will set strategy and sales targets for the year and track analytics each quarter to ensure success. This person will also lead a team of Business Development professionals to establish processes and sales approach to include new accounts, new business opportunities at existing accounts, and new marketing opportunities with the objective of establishing long term, mutually beneficial business partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will be self-starters, with responsibilities and talents including but not limited to the following:
- Building data-driven BD strategy to grow the business across the network.
- Establish successful processes and data management to ensure achievement of business objectives.
- Leads a team of BD professionals including coaching and training on account approach and management.
- Develops account plans and partnerships with key accounts.
- Provides weekly sales activity reports to management.
- Collaborates with companywide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction.
- BS in Business, Marketing, or Life Science (MBA preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of sales experience selling site or CRO services directly to the Site Network/IRB/life sciences/research, pharmaceutical, and biotech section with direct interaction with mid-level and executive level decision makers
- Advanced clinical research industry knowledge
- Demonstrated client retention skills
- Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations
- Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base
- Effective interpersonal selling skills
- Strong business acumen
- Strong verbal (listening and understanding, responding, and speaking) and written communication skills
- Proficient in using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce.com)
- Possess a solid understanding of the clinical research industry, preferably in site space understanding of human research protection
- Effective at working remotely
- Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
